Turning Training into Measurable Sales Outcomes

How Top Train used Rehearsal to drive real performance, extend learning beyond the classroom, and stand out in a traditionally resistant market.

Top Train is a specialized training and consulting firm based in Austria, delivering high-impact programs in sales, leadership, and customer-facing communication. With a network of trainers and coaches in Europe, the organization supports clients across industries, helping teams translate learning into measurable, on-the-job performance.

Challenge

Top Train set out to solve a persistent problem in corporate training: how to sustain learning impact beyond the classroom and prove real business outcomes. While workshops delivered initial knowledge, consistent application remained a challenge due to:

Low market readiness for digital learning: When Top Train first introduced Rehearsal in 2016, online training tools were still unfamiliar to many organizations in Austria.

Inconsistent post-training engagement: Training outcomes depended heavily on manager involvement. Without active reinforcement, completion rates dropped significantly. 

Budget and adoption resistance: While HR leaders recognized the value of continuous learning, investment in scalable digital solutions remained limited.


Top Train needed a way to bridge the gap between learning and performance, while differentiating itself in a competitive landscape.

Strategy & Solution

Top Train integrated Rehearsal as a strategic performance enablement layer within its training approach. Rather than positioning it as a standalone tool, it was embedded into the broader learning journey to reinforce and sustain impact.

Scenario-based skill application: Learners practiced real-world scenarios across sales conversations, leadership communication, customer interactions, and conflict resolution. 

Post-workshop reinforcement: Rehearsal extended the life of training by:

  • Enabling continued practice after workshops
  • Providing structured learning pathways
  • Allowing organizations to track learner progress

This ensured training translated into sustained behavior change, not one-time events.

Scalable, remote enablement: Rehearsal enabled Top Train to coach geographically dispersed teams while delivering consistent learning experiences without travel. Further, operations continued seamlessly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Results

Despite operating in a market still evolving in its adoption of digital learning, Top Train achieved a clear, measurable impact with aligned implementation. Some of the key success metrics it achieved include:

1. Direct sales performance impact

In a targeted insurance training program, participants were trained using Rehearsal scenarios.  91% of the participants who completed the training successfully applied the learning to sell accident insurance. Participants who did not complete the training saw no results. This demonstrated a direct link between scenario-based practice and real-world sales outcomes.

2. Expanded training reach and flexibility

Top Train successfully:

  • Developed specialist trainers and professional coaches over one year
  • Eliminated geographic barriers to learning
  • Sustained training delivery during periods of restricted travel
