With 17,000 employees across 20 offices in 9 countries, Intuit is committed to empowering individuals and businesses to make confident financial decisions with speed, simplicity, and confidence.

Challenge

As Intuit’s portfolio of financial solutions expanded, so did the complexity of the training needed to support it. Two critical challenges emerged: accelerating the onboarding of sales associates to confidently represent an extensive product suite, and equipping call center agents, many without a financial background, to expertly assist customers.

Existing training resources were outdated, uninspiring, and disjointed, leading to low engagement, poor knowledge retention, and slow ramp-up times. Employees lacked quick access to critical product information during live customer interactions. Initial attempts at gamification were overly complex, creating additional barriers rather than enhancing the learning experience.

With rapid growth driving urgency, Intuit needed a scalable learning solution that would deliver engaging, relevant, and effective training at the pace the business demanded. They also needed a partner capable of reimagining the learning experience from onboarding through ongoing development.

Strategy & Solution

To meet these challenges, Intuit partnered with ELB Learning to elevate its employee learning ecosystem, seamlessly integrating new approaches into its existing Docebo LMS. Together, they implemented a multi-faceted strategy centered on personalization, engagement, and continuous learning.

First, ELB Learning introduced a skills-based approach, tying specific learning paths to employees’ roles and responsibilities. Through pre-assessments, learners could “test out” of material they had already mastered, ensuring personalized and efficient training journeys. Customized landing pages within Docebo provided clear, self-led pathways for different roles, creating an intuitive, learner-centric experience.

To drive greater engagement, Intuit adopted The Training Arcade®, integrating role-specific games directly into the LMS. Scenario-based and reasoning games provided realistic practice opportunities, immediate feedback, and a dynamic learning environment—especially critical during the first 90 days of onboarding when habits and confidence are built.

Recognizing the importance of professional recognition, Intuit also invested in certification programs. Learners earned badges and certifications that validated their expertise, helped boost confidence, and could be showcased externally to strengthen both career opportunities and customer credibility.

Finally, ELB Learning revitalized the overall training experience by redesigning course templates and branding, introducing short-form explainer videos, guided walkthroughs, and TikTok-style screencasts. The updated learning assets were tailored to different learning styles and designed to capture attention and accelerate understanding. Trainer toolkits and facilitation guides were also modernized to support effective program delivery.

Results & Impact

The transformation produced an immediate and measurable impact. Learners found the new environment far easier to navigate, with a streamlined interface that made finding relevant content faster and more intuitive. Searching by customer segment, skill, instructor-led training, or location became effortless, supporting just-in-time learning needs.

Critically, gamification proved to be a powerful driver of success. Learners who actively engaged with gamified elements during onboarding were significantly more likely to reach the top performance quartile and were far less likely to fall into the bottom quartile. Business acumen rose by 3%, technical acumen improved by 4%, and sales acumen surged by 14%, reinforcing the clear link between engagement and performance.

In just eight months, ELB Learning and Intuit collaboratively created over 15 new learning paths and launched more than 2,000 training modules, scaling professional development to match the company’s rapid growth. Certification initiatives helped sellers differentiate themselves in the marketplace, demonstrating expertise and enhancing customer trust.

Through strategic partnership, customized design, and a relentless focus on learner engagement, Intuit transformed its learning programs from fragmented to future-ready, driving stronger employee performance, faster onboarding, and greater organizational impact.
